Split PDF and Extract Pages

Cut a long PDF into smaller files or pull out just the pages you need. Pick pages by clicking their thumbnails or type ranges like 1-3, 5, 8-10. Everything is done in your browser, so private documents never leave your device.

Runs entirely in your browser. Your files are never uploaded or stored.

    How to split a PDF

    1. Choose the PDF. Drop it onto the box or click to select it. A thumbnail of every page appears below.
    2. Pick a mode.
      • Ranges: every range becomes its own file. 1-3, 4-10, 11- gives three PDFs; 11- means “page 11 to the end”.
      • Extract pages: the chosen pages go into one new PDF. Click thumbnails to add or remove pages, or type them.
      • Every page: one PDF per page, downloaded as a ZIP file.
      • Every N pages: fixed-size parts, for example a 30-page scan split into files of 2 pages each.
    3. Split. Click Split PDF. A single result downloads at once; several results get their own buttons and a Download all as ZIP button.

    Page ranges explained

Separate entries with commas. A single number is one page, 4-7 is pages 4 to 7, -3 means the first three pages and 9- means page 9 to the last page. In Extract mode the order you type is kept, so 5, 1-2 puts page 5 first. Spaces do not matter.

    Typical uses

    • Sending only the signed page of a contract instead of the whole document.
    • Splitting a scan of many letters into one file per letter.
    • Taking a single chapter out of an e-book or a manual.
    • Staying under an email or upload size limit by sending a long PDF in parts.

    Example

A 24-page annual-report.pdf where you only need the balance sheet on pages 14–16: choose Extract pages, type 14-16 (or click the three thumbnails) and split. You get annual-report-extract.pdf with 3 pages. With Every page the same report gives a ZIP with 24 files named annual-report-pages-1.pdf to annual-report-pages-24.pdf.

    Quality and privacy

Pages are copied unchanged with the open-source library pdf-lib, so text stays selectable and the quality is identical to the original. Fonts and images that several pages share are kept once per file. The PDF is opened only in your browser's memory; it is never uploaded and nothing is stored.

To put files back together, use Merge PDF. To save pages as images instead, try PDF to JPG.

    Frequently asked questions

    Is this PDF splitter free?

Yes. It is free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no page limit. It runs entirely in your browser.

    Are my files uploaded?

No. The PDF is opened and split on your own device. Nothing is sent to a server or stored.

How do I extract a single page?

Choose Extract pages, type the page number (for example 7) or click its thumbnail, then click Split PDF. You get a one-page PDF.

Can I split a PDF into single pages?

Yes. Choose Every page. Each page becomes its own PDF and you can download them all at once as a ZIP file.

    Does splitting change the quality?

No. Pages are copied as they are, so text, images and fonts stay exactly the same as in the original.

Why does my PDF not open?

Password-protected or encrypted PDFs cannot be split. Damaged files may also fail; opening and re-saving them in a PDF reader often helps.
