How to convert PNG to JPG

    1. Choose the images. Drop PNG files onto the box or click to pick them; many at once is fine.
    2. Check the settings. JPG is selected by default. Quality 90 looks identical to the original for almost every image; lower it for smaller files. Transparent areas are filled with the background colour, white by default.
    3. Download. Every image gets its own button, and with two or more you can save them all as one ZIP.

Dropping a JPG first switches the target to PNG automatically, so the same page works as a JPG to PNG converter. WebP is there for images that go on a website.

    Why convert PNG to JPG?

PNG stores every pixel without loss. That is perfect for logos and screenshots with sharp text, but photos saved as PNG are huge: a 12-megapixel photo can easily be 15–25 MB as PNG and only 2–4 MB as JPG. Many upload forms, email providers and online shops also only accept JPG or limit the file size, so converting solves both problems.

    When to keep PNG

    • Logos, icons and graphics that need a transparent background. JPG cannot store transparency.
    • Screenshots of text and code, where JPG can show faint artefacts around letters.
    • Images you will edit again and again, because JPG loses a little quality every time it is saved.

    Example

A screenshot dashboard.png of 2880 × 1800 pixels and 3.4 MB becomes dashboard.jpg at quality 90 with around 450–700 KB, the same pixel size and no visible difference on screen. A product photo with a transparent background, converted with a light grey background colour #f4f4f5, gets a clean studio look instead of the default white.

    Privacy

The conversion runs in your browser with the built-in image encoder. Your files are never uploaded, and metadata such as GPS location and camera details is not copied into the new image.

Still too big? Use the image compressor to hit an exact size such as 100 KB, or the image resizer to reduce the pixel dimensions. For WebP files, see WebP to JPG.

    Frequently asked questions

Is this PNG to JPG converter free?

Yes. It is free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on the number of images.

    Are my images uploaded?

No. The conversion happens in your browser. Nothing is uploaded or stored.

    What happens to transparent areas?

JPG cannot be transparent, so those areas are filled with the background colour you choose. White is the default.

Can I convert JPG to PNG here?

Yes. Choose PNG as the target format, or simply drop a JPG first and the tool switches to PNG automatically.

Does converting to JPG reduce quality?

Slightly, because JPG is lossy, but at quality 90 the difference is not visible for photos and most graphics.

Can I convert many PNG files at once?

Yes. Select or drop as many as you like and download them all together as a ZIP file.
