    How to resize an image

    1. Choose one or more images. The original size appears above the settings.
    2. Enter the new size. With Keep aspect ratio on, type only the width and the height follows. The line next to the button shows the exact result before you start.
    3. Press Resize (or Ctrl+Enter) and download the result. Change the settings and press it again for another version.

Four ways to set the size

    • Pixels for screens, websites and upload forms. Turn off the aspect lock to set width and height independently; then you can choose whether the image is cropped, fitted with a border or stretched.
    • Percent to scale every image in a batch by the same factor, such as 50 % for half the width and height.
    • Print size in centimetres or inches at 72, 150, 300 or 600 dpi. The DPI value is written into the file, so print software shows the right physical size.
    • Presets for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, Facebook and LinkedIn, plus Full HD, 4K and A4.

    Crop, fit or stretch?

When the new shape differs from the original, for example a landscape photo for a square Instagram post, you decide what happens. Crop to fill cuts equal parts from both sides so the image fills the frame. Fit inside keeps the whole picture and adds a border in a colour you choose, which is handy for product photos and wallpapers. Stretch forces the image into the frame and distorts it, so use it only for small corrections.

For a 10 × 15 cm print at 300 dpi, choose Print size, unit cm, and enter 15 cm as the width. The tool calculates 1772 pixels, and 1181 pixels for the height of a 3:2 photo. A4 at 300 dpi needs 2480 × 3508 pixels.

    Making images bigger

Enlarging works, but a normal resize cannot add detail, so photos more than 1.5 times their original size look soft. For that the AI image upscaler gives much sharper results.

    Quality and privacy

Large reductions are done in several halving steps, which keeps fine lines smooth and avoids jagged edges. Everything runs in your browser, so your images are never uploaded.

    Frequently asked questions

How do I resize an image without losing quality?

Making an image smaller keeps it sharp, especially with the step-by-step scaling used here. Save as PNG for no compression at all, or JPG at quality 90 for a good balance of size and quality.

How do I resize a photo to 1080 by 1080 for Instagram?

Choose Presets, pick Instagram post square and select Crop to fill. The photo is centred and cropped to an exact 1080 by 1080 square.

How many pixels are 10 by 15 cm at 300 dpi?

1772 by 1181 pixels. Choose Print size, set the unit to cm and the resolution to 300 dpi, and the tool converts any size to pixels for you.

Can I resize several images at once?

Yes. Select multiple files; they all get the same settings, and you can download them together as a ZIP file.

Does the resizer upload my images?

No. All resizing happens on your device in the browser, and nothing is sent to a server or stored.
