Rotate PDF Pages

Scanned a page upside down or got a PDF with sideways landscape pages? Click a page to turn it 90 degrees clockwise, rotate all pages at once and save the PDF. The rotation is stored in the file, so it stays correct in every PDF reader.

Rotate PDFRuns in your browser

Choose a PDF to start.

Runs entirely in your browser. Your files are never uploaded or stored.

How to rotate a PDF

  1. Choose the PDF. Drop it onto the box or click to select it. A thumbnail of every page appears.
  2. Rotate pages. Each click on a page turns it 90 degrees clockwise; click twice for 180 degrees, three times for 270. The buttons above the pages rotate all pages left or right at once.
  3. Save. Click Save rotated PDF. The new file is downloaded immediately.

Rotate permanently, not just the view

Most PDF readers have a rotate button, but it only changes the view on your screen. When you send the file or open it again, the pages are sideways again. This tool changes the page rotation stored inside the PDF, so the pages appear the right way up everywhere: in browsers, on phones, in print and in upload forms.

Quality stays the same

Rotating does not re-compress or redraw anything. The page content, text, fonts and images remain exactly as they were; only the rotation value of each page changes. Text stays selectable and the file size stays almost identical.

Typical uses

  • Fixing pages a scanner or phone app saved upside down.
  • Turning landscape tables or drawings so they can be read without tilting your head.
  • Preparing documents for upload forms that show the PDF exactly as stored.
  • Correcting a single wrong page in a long contract or report.

Example

A 12-page scan tax-documents.pdf where pages 4 and 9 are upside down: click page 4 twice and page 9 twice (180 degrees each) and save. You get tax-documents-rotated.pdf with all pages upright and the same size as before.

Privacy

The PDF is opened and changed in your browser with the open-source libraries pdf.js and pdf-lib. It is never uploaded and nothing is stored.

Need to remove pages too? Use Delete PDF pages. To combine files afterwards, use Merge PDF.
